SMS Verbal Opt-In Script
This is the standard script used by Monterra Financial LLC representatives to collect verbal consent for SMS text messaging during phone calls with business funding applicants. Consent is collected before any text message is sent. The representative records the customer's consent, with date and time, on the customer's record in our CRM.
Verbal Opt-In Script (read by the representative on the call)
Representative: "Before we finish up, I'd like to send you text messages about your business funding application from this number. That would include requests for documents, status updates on your application, and appointment reminders. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. Do I have your permission to send you text messages at this phone number?"
Customer: [Must clearly answer "Yes" or give equivalent affirmative consent.]
Representative: "Thank you. I've noted your consent. You can opt out any time by replying STOP to any message."
Rules the representative must follow
- Consent must be collected before any SMS is sent to the customer.
- If the customer declines or is unsure, no text messages are sent. Consent is not a condition of receiving funding or advisory services.
- The representative records the consent (yes/no, date, and time) on the customer's contact record in the CRM immediately after the call.
- Messages sent under this consent are informational only: document requests, application status updates, and appointment reminders. No promotional or marketing messages are sent.
- A STOP reply immediately and permanently stops all messaging to that number. A HELP reply returns our support contact information.
